Winex installation problem HELP PLZ!


When I try installing winex I get this message:


Could not stat /root/.transgaming/c_drive (Success), ignoring drive C:
Invalid path 'c:\windows' for windows directory: does not exist
Perhaps you have not properly edited or created your Wine configuration file.
This is (supposed to be) '/root/.wine/config'
Registry install failed.


Thnx in advance for any help.

Plz help me I want to play my windows games with the stability of Linux

Did you install using .rpm, .tar.gz, or the CVSWinex script or just plain old CVS?

got it to work, had to edit the config and move some files around, thnx anyways though, I have a new problem where installshield crashes after it loads, it is as follows:


fixmele:NdrProxyErrorHandler (0xc0000005): semi-stub
fixmele:RpcChannel_GetDestCtx (0x4034311c)->GetDestCtx(0x43fd2800,0x43fd2804)
fixmele:NdrConvert (pStubMsg == ^0x407611bc, pFormat == ^0x100041c8): stub.
fixmele:NdrConvert (pStubMsg == ^0x43fd278c, pFormat == ^0x100041c8): stub.
XIO: fatal IO error 0 (Success) on X server ":0.0"
after 984 requests (514 known processed) with 0 events remaining.

This is just a fraction of it, I was trying to install bf1942 if it matters, and i'm running on:

AMD athlonXP 1.66ghz
nvidia geforce 4 ti 4600 128mb
512mb RAM


Help me plz.


I was using plain old CVS by the way.

another problem I have is installing Dcom98

C:\WINDOWS\compobj.dll

that's the error I get

I fixed this problem with wine dcom95.exe /c command.

I have a new problem and I will put it on a different thread

Aggghhhh!!!!

Do you know how annoying that is? For the benefit of others with the same problem, (i.e. me) please explain exactly how you fixed the problem please?!
