yes, i saw same thing before if i wanted to run debian, x didn't start cause of that, but redhat would work with mine nvidia, so shouldn't wine to the same?
i found out that it could be a problem of glib2.3.2, i should downgrade to 2.3.1, with rpms its a damn work because lots of programs depend on it, so i can't simply remove it, so i think i can't install 2.3.1, is there a way to do this simple?
Originally posted by ichbinesderelch well, i tried to run diablo 2 and it should work with wine, thx anyway
I am using Linux Red Hat 9.0. ( Clean Install ) with all the red hat default stuff. What do i need to download and update / downgrade in order to get counter-strike working in linux ? I would really apreciate your help.
i fixed the first problem by
export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5
but well, the errors are not ending
new one is:
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
err:midi:OSS_MidiInit ioctl on midi info for device 0 failed.
wine: can't exec '"Diablo II.exe"': error=21

Thank you for your reply, but the guys at transgaming are commercial right ? ( i mean: It costs money doesnt it ?! ) I tried wine 2 times before... but i just couldnīt get it working. The errors kept comming, and were maybe a result of the fixing of another problem. Ok... i am a
, so maybe you guys just get tired of stupid questions. Does annyone know a way to get WineX for free? If its not allowed to post it here for some reason then please email me: marno_t@hotmail.com
you can get winex free from cvs tree with:
cvs -dserver:anonymous@cvs.winex.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/winex login
if some error like this happens:
cvs login: warning: failed to open /home/comrad/.cvspass for reading: No such file or directory
than you have to activate first your cvs things with: touch .cvspass.
than:
cvs -dserver:anonymous@cvs.winex.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/winex -z 3 co -r winex-3-0 win
this to get a stable version of winex..
if asking for password just press enter
to compile it type
./configure --with-ntpl --with-x --disable-trace --enable-opengl --disable-debug
make depend && make (this takes a while)
make install than..
to configurate it easy maybe download winesetuptk,
well, i didn't get some game to work yet, maybe you are having more luck
