wine - All File open dialog buttons grayed out

As the title states All of the "Open" buttons on the open file dialog boxes I have tried are grayed out and so I can never select files or folders. I only have 2 programs installed to try this on, dvdshrink and dvd decrypter, and they both have this problem. Any idea what might be causing this?

I'm running a fresh install of slackware 12 and have compiled wine 0.9.51 from source using all default configuration options, except changing the prefix to /usr/local.

Even I have had so many problems with wine. Some programs work fine but some do not. It just hangs, I mean wine.

Well I haven't had this problem before, I know wine is far from perfect, but generally it works surprisingly well. I've had both of these apps working flawlessly before I reformatted.
