Question wierd spamassassin entries in /var/log/maillog

I am seeing the following error repeatedly in my /var/log/maillog file and was wondering if anyone knew what it means.

Spamd[8982]: Malformed UTF-8 character (unexpected continuation byte 0x85, with no preceding start byte) in substitution iterator at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.0/Mail/Spamassassin/Evaltests.pm line 1706 <STDIN> line 275

I am trying to track down the source of the problem that is crashing my mail server and wanted to find out if this could be part of the problem. Thanks...
