windows is great, but thats just because Im growing(im only 14 so im still growing) up using it (becuase thats the OS my [what i deem my] gaming PC) but ive installed linux(Alt linux 2.4 Master) on an old IBM laptop and now on my moms old computer (it ran on 98 now it runs on Fedora 5). I find the dependincies thing really annoying but other than that linux is better than windows in many ways (like no/few viruses and being able to custimize for what I want to use the comp for). And im amazed there is alot of linux stuff, usually for free stuff you get not-so-great stuff but its wonderful how much u get. Im already sorta able to program with Vsiual basic and I can program with LIBERTY basic, so now i wanna learn linux programs.(know any good websites that tells you how to program in Ruby? [i found a site for perl PERL.org or somthing])

Microsoft: white collar and linux: blue collar is not a valid analogy. Actually it is not even an analogy. An analogy is A resemblance of relations; an agreement or likeness between things in some circumstances or effects, when the things are otherwise entirely different.

I think a more valid comparison would be microsoft = slavish followers and linux = intelligent doers

I always thought of it like:

Microsoft: White collar paycheck to paycheckers
Linux: Blue collar Billionares

(Yes, I know it is an oxymoron, but it makes sence to me!)

Anyway, I should start naming all my programs after liquors. Jack Daniels. Crown Royal. Jim Beam.

Hell man, when I used Windows, it and the applications "were" "free" if you know what I mean. And I still use linux.
