Which version of Nvidia driver is installed.

I know there's a command, maybe with a grep, that will display the current version of the Nvidia driver you are running. I came across this recently, but I'm old and forgetful.

I have an older GeForce2 Ti on this Slackware box and I have 3 of the Nvidia.*.run files downloaded. The GeForce2 Ti is a legacy card and doesn't work with the newer drivers. I'm not sure which of these 3 I used this time.

Anybody know the command that will show the Nvidia driver version that's installed?

Thanks...

One way to find that information:

locate nvidia

In /usr/lib/precompiled, and in /usr/share/doc/nvidia, you will see the nvidia package name, which includes the version number.

.
Thanks bathory. I knew it was something simple.

Code:
bash-3.00$ cd /proc/driver/nvidia
bash-3.00$ cat version
NVRM version: NVIDIA Linux x86 NVIDIA Kernel Module 1.0-7174 Tue Mar 22 06:44:39 PST 2005
GCC version: gcc version 3.3.6
bigrigdriver, thanks for the input, but this system doesn't have a /usr/lib/precompiled.
I have a /usr/share/doc/NVIDIA_GLX-1.0 but there's nothing in there about the current nvidia installation.

However, after verifying with bathory's post, I see that 'locate nvidia' produced several lines, including a couple of references to 7174:
"/usr/lib/tls/libnvidia-tls.so.1.0.7174"
"/usr/lib/libnvidia-tls.so.1.0.7174"
Code:
bash-3.00$ locate nvidia
/lib/modules/2.4.31/kernel/drivers/video/nvidia.o
/var/log/nvidia-installer.log
/usr/bin/nvidia-settings
/usr/bin/nvidia-bug-report.sh
/usr/bin/nvidia-installer
/usr/doc/NVIDIA_GLX-1.0/nvidia-settings-user-guide.txt
/usr/lib/tls/libnvidia-tls.so.1
/usr/lib/tls/libnvidia-tls.so.1.0.7174
/usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.0.2/vidix/nvidia_vid.so
/usr/lib/libnvidia-tls.so.1
/usr/lib/libnvidia-tls.so.1.0.7174
/usr/src/linux-2.4.31/include/config/agp/nvidia.h
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/nvidia_drv.o
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/nvidia_drv.so
bash-3.00$
Regards...
