ftp through the web browser

So thank you for replies
I choose the Vsftpd installed it and it working fine through the terminal and thorugh the windows command windows all i have to do is just type 'lftp servername' or 'ftp servername' also it works fine through GUI FTP clients like WS_FTP.

BUT HERE IS MY PROBLEM i can't access my ftp though the web browser when i try 'ftp://ftp.x.x.x.x' or 'ftp://ftp.servername' i get "windows cannot access this folder. make sure you typed the file name correctly and that you have permission to access the folder. Details: The server name or address could not be resolved"

i know i have permission becasuse i can access it through the terminal and command windows

Thanks for you help

I think you have to use something like ftp://username@ftpserver, then it'll ask for a passwd. Maybe you can also try ftp://username:passwd@ftpserver. Depends on the browser.

nope, I run vsftpd and I didn't add anything to vsftpd.conf to allow browser access. I access my ftp the way I said on my other post.
