Which Firefox plugins do I have?

This ought to be a simple question but it doesn't seem to be. How can I find out which plugins I have installed in Firefox? The Adobe site for Flash says to go to Help -> About Plugins (in Firefox), but Firefox Help has no such option.

Type about:plugins in Firefox' address bar.

Or click here.

Post Firefox Plugins Installation Directory

Hi,

You can see the plugins installed under your firefox installation directory something like

example:

/firefox_installation/directory/plugins

my case: /usr/lib/firefox so ls -al will show

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 37 2007-11-22 20:33 flashplugin-alternative.so -> /etc/alternatives/firefox-flashplugin
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 39 2007-11-22 20:35 libjavaplugin.so -> /etc/alternatives/firefox-javaplugin.so
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9104 2007-10-22 19:42 libunixprintplugin.so
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 35 2007-11-22 20:32 mozplugger.so -> ../../mozilla/plugins/mozplugger.so

If you want a new plugin just give a soft link here. If dont wanna something just remove the softlink file.

Is there really any need to install an extension?

All you have to do is enter "about:plugins" into the address bar. That's hardly difficult!

Click on "Tools", "ADD-ons", there is the list of Firefox extensions.

The question was about plug-ins, not extensions.

The Add-ons manager will list plug-ins at some point in the future (it does in the current trunk nightly versions), but in the current releases it only manages extensions, themes and language packs.
