Where is the Chrome browser cache in a ChromeOS file system?

Newbie here, sorry if this is the wrong forum.

A website I like has taken itself offline. It is not archived on Google or Wayback. I'd like to know if it is stored on my browser, on my Chromebook.

This used to be relatively straightforward, but Chrome has removed the cache view from the browser functionality. I have tried searching for apps or extensions but they only search online, not offline files

I am using chromecacheview through WINE to search folders individually, but since Linux is so different from Windows this is a needle in a haystack strategy.

Searching online offers a variety of answers dating back to before Chrome removed easily viewing the cache and after, little of which are relevant.

If this was Windows, it would be easy - can a talented expert help me with Linux??

Many thanks!

Okay, I've figured out you can enter chrome://version into the address bar and determine the executable path, and the profile path. But neither exist anywhere. For instance, the executable path is /opt/google/chrome/chrome, however only up to /google/ is visible. How is Chrome able to use an executable path which does not exist? If anybody can lend a hand please do!

Many thanks

So, couple of things here, Chromebook uses ChromeOS and not Linux(though it is Linux-like in its base). You can activate Linux via Developer options a Linux version(Debian 11) to run in a container, but, even then it is sand boxed.

I think you may get better/quicker response in a Chromebook/ChromeOS forum.

There is A sub-forum for ChromeOS under Other *nix forums on this site, you may get more views in that forum. You can ask a moderator to move this.
