For Firefox look in Edit --> Preferences --> Privacy --> Cookies, where you can delete all cookies or just some of them. I don't know about lynx, but maybe other ones can point you there.
I have seen that there is a file called cookies.txt on .mozilla/firefox/wvxmoquk.default/
But not all cookies are listed when i go "edit --> preferences ---> privacy --> cookies" on that file, why this happens?

Checking this I also found some cookies I that should have been deleted. I installed CookieCuller (which has some extra functionality I have use for) which worked well. With CookieCuller you are able to protect some cookies like the LQ.org ones and just delete the bad ones with one click
