Where can i find a fetchmail how-to

Hi everyone...

I want to know how can i make fetchmail run in daemon mode? I just know to fetch mail from the pop3/server using the fetchmail -v command, however, I would like fetchmail to query the server every n minutes for new mails....how do i do that? and If someone can direct me to a detailed how-to on fetchmail as well as how-to on procmail, i'll be highly thankful....and by the way, is fetchmail an MDA or MUA ??? on what basis do we say that its an MDA or MUA?

Regards,

amit

this is very clearly detailed in the man page for fetchmail

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=133725

Quote:
DAEMON MODE

The --daemon <interval> or -d <interval> option runs fetchmail in dae-
mon mode. You must specify a numeric argument which is a polling
interval in seconds.

In daemon mode, fetchmail puts itself in background and runs forever,
querying each specified host and then sleeping for the given polling
interval.

Simply invoking

fetchmail -d 900

will, therefore, poll all the hosts described in your ~/.fetchmailrc
file (except those explicitly excluded with the `skip' verb) once every
fifteen minutes.
