What web server does a service like Webmin use for its interface on a alternate port?

What web server does a service like Webmin use for its interface on a alternate port?

Is it just a seperate install of apache?

And if so are there any conflicts caused by running 2 instances of apache on the different ports?

TIA

webmin uses port 10000 and in a nutshell is it's own web server. The same can be said for cups which runs on port 631 or swat which runs on port 901. None of them require apache to be running.

To tell the web browser that you are using a non standard port i.e. 80 it must be specified like http://ip_address:port_no

How does webmin get the pages to come up in HTML format? IE, when your viewing the webmin interface on port 10000 you can view source and see HTML code.

All you need to do is send HTML code as a char string using a TCP socket. You can write a simple server in just about any language.
