what does it mean about "GNU/Linux 2.6.15"


hi,all

$ file /sbin/init
/sbin/init: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.15, stripped

what does it mean about "Linux 2.6.15" and how to generate it

"Linux 2.6.15" is the version of the kernel you are running.

I am not sure what you mean by "how to generate it", if you want to find the current version information use

I think it is needed to make this tool chain version of the kernel header files ,but i'am not sure
