Weird viewing of nintendo output over tv tuner in linux...

Not long ago I installed my tvtuner card, to be exact it was an ASUS TV-FM with chipset 7134 where I compiled and initiated modules for it as well as compiling v4l driver under linux kernel 2.6.12. All went well, all the cable channels and sound worked flawlessly as well as connecting my VCR to the card and viwing my video tapes without any problems.

The problem that I've been experiencing is to do with my old Nintendo game box, which from time to time I used to play on it, connecting it to my tvcard under windows without any problems. Both type of connections worked under windows, both coaxal and audio/video but in linux it gives out freezes of the images in all the tv viewers under linux. As for the sound, you can hear it without any stuttering in the background. While trying to fine tune it, when I get to the black and white imaging of the nintendo capture it runs well without problems, once I fine tune it to the colors it freezes. That is when I get the errors in the console:

ioctl VIDIOC_DQBUF: Input/output error
ioctl VIDIOC_DQBUF: Input/output error
ioctl VIDIOC_DQBUF: Invalid argument
ioctl VIDIOC_DQBUF: Input/output error
total reset
ioctl VIDIOC_DQBUF: Input/output error
ioctl VIDIOC_DQBUF: Input/output error
ioctl VIDIOC_DQBUF: Invalid argument
ioctl VIDIOC_DQBUF: Input/output error
total reset
ioctl VIDIOC_DQBUF: Input/output error
ioctl VIDIOC_DQBUF: Input/output error
ioctl VIDIOC_DQBUF: Invalid argument
ioctl VIDIOC_DQBUF: Input/output error
total reset

and so on it goes, untill I turn off the viewer.
note: the errors apper only when trying to view the coloured picture of the nintendo channel/composite or other input.

I'd really appreciate the help in this matter if anyone could explain what is going on or how to solve it
