weird folder

Hi everyone I have a really weird thing happening. I have a folder that I keep .tgz file in for when I want to install something, an noticed something out of the ordinary there today. It is what appears to be a directory called "mozilla&gaim", but I cannot cd to it, even as root. If I try to delete it or chown it it prompts the gaim "add an account" window to pop up. Needless to say this has me totally baffled and I can't explain it. This is on my latest Zenwalk installation.
Should I maybe get the install disk out and format?!?!?!

Use the escape character "\" before the special character "&" to do what you want with that dir, i.e.
Code:
cd mozilla\&gaim

Or use single quotes around the name, like
cd 'mozilla&gaim'

Otherwise, your shell will interpret the "&" as the symbol for launching commands in the background (see
man page of your shell).
Hence, it does:
cd mozilla & #launched in background
gaim #launched in foreground without waiting for "cd" to finish => that's why you get the Gaim window
