just use the standard X startup scripts. if you have waimea loading via ~/.xinitrc just add any programs you want to load before it

the thing is im trying to run "idesk" a root desktop icon system, and when i start it from .xinirc then i close the waimea session the idesk session remains open therefore X dosen't close.

if you have any suggestions on syntax within the .xinirc file to prevemt this please reply.

thanx

OK - So I have waimea installed on Redhat 8.0 and I don't seem to see an .xinitrc and I don't think that Redhat 8.0 uses this file. Is there another way to load a couple of things when waimea starts? I am using GDM and I have Gnome as well as KDE installed.

/etc/X11/gdm/Sessions/Waimea is the file to look for under Redhat 8.0

Thanks for the pointer...
