vsftp usage per user

Is there a way to verify the bandwith usage per user of vsftp like mrtg and cacti?

Right now, i can measure the usage on the interface, since there's only 1 client but many ftp accounts. In the future, it will expand and my problem is the bandwidth usage since it will only pass through a single interface.

I already got one, using AWSTATS. Anyway, does anybody know how this application computes the bandwidth usage? Based on the output, it appears that the bandwidth utilization per user is much larger compared on the interface utilization created by CACTI and MRTG.
