I have been with a problem with the "VIM" because when I use the keys "Page Up" and "Page Down" I do not get any reaction from the "VIM".
I know that using "Ctrl-d" works like "Page Down" and "Ctrl-b" works like "Page Up".
But as I have a machine with fedora 5, and VIM version 6.3.30
in which the keys "PageUp" and "PageDown" works well.
So I would like to see what I did wrong for him not to react the way they should.
Already compared the file / etc / vimrc fedora 10 fedora with a 5 and appears to be all the same.
I checked the keyboard of the system corresponded with what was to use.
and apparently everything is in order.
checked with the command "showkey -a" to see if the signal from the key changes from a fedora to another, but it's all the same.
Does anyone have any idea what might be?
I'm using fedora 10 2.6.27.5-117.fc10.i686
and the version of "VIM" is the "VI IMproved" 7.2.148
I tried with an earlier version to 6.4 but the reaction is the same.
Thanks

I have checked the termcap as you indicated, and in Fedora5 that file actually exists, but in Fedora 10 does not exist "/etc/termcap", there is only an empty folder named "/etc/terminfo/".
I tried to install libtercap that I thought was an installation package for the "termcap" but without success, which generated the following message:
# Yum install libtermcap-2.0.8-47.i386.rpm
Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit
Setting up Install Process
Examining libtermcap-2.0.8-47.i386.rpm: libtermcap-2.0.8-47.i386
Marking libtermcap-2.0.8-47.i386.rpm to be installed
Package libtermcap-2.0.8-47.i386 is obsoleted by ncurses-libs-5.6-20.20080927.fc10.i386 which is already installed
Nothing to do
#
Then I tried to check if there was any update to the "ncurses" (which apparently replaced the "termcap") but without achieving anything concrete because there were no updates.
In the end all these steps, I tried to copy the termcap for fedora 10 but still with the same problem.
You know how I can test if it really is the termcap or the lack of "termcap", which is causing this problem?
Or if it is lack of configuration in the "ncurses"?

I have been testing and if I remove the "VIM" and use only the "VI" the PageUp and PageDown work well, but this is only as root, because using a different user it says can not find the command "vi".
How can I put the "VI" to work independent of "VIM", and accessible by any user?
Would be helpful to know what vim and vi are for root. As root, issue the following commands and post the output. Text in red needs changing
Code:
type vi
type vim
# For any of type vi and type vim responses that are files (not aliases ...)
/bin/ls -l <the file name(s)>
Here's an example
Code:
c@CW8:~$ type vi
vi is /usr/bin/vi
c@CW8:~$ type vim
vim is /usr/bin/vim
c@CW8:~$ /bin/ls -l /usr/bin/vi /usr/bin/vim
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 Feb 21 15:15 /usr/bin/vi -> vim
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 4192356 Aug 25 06:34 /usr/bin/vim
