VICE problem solving

Dear users,

I am having trouble to get VICE (Commodore 64 emulator) working. I have tried instructions at

http://www.n00bsonubuntu.net/content...-ubuntu-12-04/

When I type

x64

in terminal, I get the following:

getting symbol guess_format failed!
Virheellinen käsky (luotiin core-tiedosto)

The last line translated from finnish to english is:

Erroneous command (core-file created)

What am I doing wrong?

Thread is marked as being [SOLVED] and no solution is present.

@OP: Can you provide the solution so that others can also benefit from it?

Taken off the zero-reply list.

There wasn't much problem solving. I downloaded full version from

http://packages.ubuntu.com/precise/vice

I installed VICE 2.3 from that packet and it works perfectly without any of the issues I originally asked about. In order to keep program working one must NOT install any of the VICE updates Ubuntu might suggest.
