usr/src/packages yast update kernel

Hi! I'm a newbie here... I don't have a real problem with my SuSE 9.0, it's working fine...
I made on-line update with yast2, I've checked kernel update and some other things. After download complete, I realized that kernel package moved or something... because in that directory /usr/src I can't see any linux* folder. Now I have usr/src/packages/build & rpms & sources & specs & srpms. All these directories are empty except one: RPMS which has another 7 folders athlon & i386 & i486 & i586 & i686 & noarch which are all empty (!)
Now, what's happening?
What should I do?

the kernel source lives in /usr/src/linux, it's not needed and not installed by default. the running kernel lives at /boot/vmlinuz.

/usr/src/packages belongs there. It is SuSE's build tree. If you plan to build binary rpm's from .src.rpm's, that's where you would do it. The missing linux directory is another matter. It's a symlink to /usr/src/linux-<kernel version>. In SuSE 8.2, I have /usr/src/linux, /usr/src/linux-<kernel version>, and /usr/src/packages. Perhaps someone else can tell you how to re-create the symlinked directory.
