Using Slackware9.0 samba 2.2.8a
Just had samba working with a win2k dns between my XP and Slack machines, everything worked fine. Desided to dump the win2k dns and put Slack on that machine as well. Now I'm trying to get samba to work using a workgroup with 1 XP box and 2 slack boxes, not as easy as putting the slack machine in the win2k dns computer list. These are connected through a Netgear router/switch.

Can you connect using smbclient -L "hostname" from one Linux box to another to test samba?
Any suggestions, besides dump the XP as well, would be much appreciated. Weening into Linux, loving it so far. Love all the documentation.

Thanks
