using mmap to access analog camera from two separate application

Hi All,

I am using v4l2 library to access/capture from analog device.
My problem is that i am able to capture data from my application.

but when i run a second instance of same application it says device busy error while grabbing.

but xawtv(standard utility to view analog cameras.) opens the same camera with my application.

I am using SUSE 10.3.
I think there is some way of calling mmap to open the camera from second application. but i am not clear how to do that.

Can anybody help me?

Thanks in advance,
Gitanshu
