I'm assuming however you mean a GUI (Graphical User Interface).
Both KDE and Gnome GUIs are available out of the box but does not have to be installed. I'm assuming your support team installed it.
If you have console access you could try typing "startx" after login to see if a GUI comes up.
If you have only terminal access you can still get X Windows but need an X windows environment. A commercial one I've used for years is Exceed (lets you have UNIX/Linux X Windows on an MS Windows workstation.) A free one I ran into not long ago is Xming though it doesn't seem it does everything.
However if you're not comfortable with CLI it doesn't seem you should be "writing code".

There is a user interface installed by default on RHEL. If you don't have a graphical user interface installed, then your system will have been setup to use the text based interface.
