USB mouse issue: need to reboot once unpluged

Hi all:

I was a user of debian before I switched to FC3. In debian I did not have this problem, but this is driving me crazy in FC3. Hope you can help.

In FC3 if I unplug my usb mouse, and plug it back it, it does not get recognized. It simply does not work. The nice red LED comes on, but it does't work. Am I missing a driver or something? if so, which one?

Thanks,
--

Why would you unplug it?. Even though usb's support hot plug, you should not need/have to do that.

Anyway, most likely, you will need to kill the daemon that runs the mouse in Fedora and restart it. For example, in FreeBSD, I do:

killall -9 moused
moused -p /dev/psm0 -z4

Have no idea what daemon is used in Fedora (or Linux for that matter), but it should be easy to find by running "top".

Good luck!
