I have recently set up a my webserver using Gallery 1.4.4 to show off some photos for friends and family. I am encountering an error when I attempt to upload files that are larger then 500kb I get the following output
The requested URL could not be retrieved

While trying to retrieve the URL:
http://mr54mk.kicks-ass.net/gallery/save_photos.php
The following error was encountered:
We can not connect to the server you have requested.
This means that:
The server might be busy at this time.
The server is not reachable.
Please try later to see if you can go through.

I edited the /etc/php.ini file to look like this
upload_max_filesize = 10M
This doesn't seem to be working. Is there something that I need to tweek. Is this a problem with PHP? How would I be able to upload files larget then 500kb? Please note I was running the Alphp 2.0 version of Gallery and decided to take it down due to functionality issues. While running it I never encountered an error while uploading large files. Anyone have any ideas??
