Unistalling GRUB on a dual boot....

I have a windows XP/ubuntu dual-boot with each OS on a different hard drive. I reformatted the ubuntu hard drive but GRUB is still on there. Some one told me once before, but i forgot, How do you use the windows CD to get rid of GRUB? ( I remember something about having it boot to the CD, but before the visuals load I typed a command, and then a few more and it was gone.) Thanx!

Best way for you to do this would be to use your xp cd, boot from it and drop to console.
From here a simple fdisk /fixmbr should do this trick.
Long time since i done it this way, so do let me know if you have any problems.
Your best way however would be to boot into ubuntu, drop to a shell and do if from there using many different methods i dont think we need to go into here, but fdisk being the most obvious.
Basically what you are trying to accomplish is erasing the master boot record, but you will have to replace it.
The xp way is the most easiest, but i do think going that route would leave you with no option to boot into ubuntu.
I therefore would suggest you look at ways to solve this!
Why do you not wish to use grub anymore? You could edit grub.conf to reflect what you need. This can be found (most of the time) in /boot/grub/grub.conf
Hope this helps.
