[SOLVED] Unable to unlock screen in Kubuntu 12.04

Heyas,

My computer just starting experiencing an issue within the past week where the prompt to unlock the screen doesn't appear after it's been idle for a while (sleep or just idle). I end up having to restart KDM to get back in. Has anyone ever experienced this? Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot?

something similar happened to me, it was caused by a missing security lib. Do you need to enter password to unlock? Have you checked the log files?

Thanks. It turns out that this is a known bug in KDE. There are two settings for locking the screen and if one is set and the other is not, you can't get back in:
