It appears that ia32-libs fixed the issue!!!!

Thats what I call coincidence just a few hours before I came upon the thread I installed wine on my system which as well needed ia32-libs. That's why it worked for me so easy.
At least you got it working.

Haha yeah, although since then I've encountered numerous issues. But that's not Linux, it's Valve :P
Been downloading the dedicated server application now for about 2.5 hours, and it's only completed 50%.

Guess everyone is downloading the server as its out only a few days.
Valve is not so fun when coming to dedicated server. Also they at least have a download on their webpage. Something that not every corp makes easy to find. I once spend have a day looking for the bf2 ded server.
I also remember one version of the installer needing sse2 processor feature (Made a thread about it somewhere). But at least they listened to the community and removed it the next version.

I hope they don't fuck up the openGL modes of some of their games. Looking forward to test drive those.
