But i have come to a point that i cant resolve on my own and need some help.

Im trying to install apt-get from an RPM on RH90 but i get the following errors:

I know that the manual way to fix this is to find each dependency and install it before hand. BUt damn that is alot of dependencies for apt-get.

This is my second time installing apt-get on a RH90 machine and the first time it went off without a hitch. I have no GUI on either machine.

The rpm im trying to install is apt-0.5.5cnc6-fr0.rh80.1.i386.rpm

Thanks for any help.

I know that the Fedora Legacy project provides yum or apt and has instructions for setting them up to receive updates it provides.

Here is instructions for apt on RH9; although I personally prefer yum (here is instructions for yum on RH9).

Thanks for the links.
I finally figured out my problem, which of course leaves me in the ranks of a linux newb.
I had installed RH enterprise instead of RH9 on the second machine. How i did that who knows.
That is why it wouldnt work.

I got it squared away and everything is running fine so far.

Thanks again for replying to my question.
