Tomcat, cannot connect to 8080

Hi there,

I have installed Tomcat 4.1.30 onto a Linux server. Installation was fine as it is when running / shutting down the server.

The only hassle is that I cannot connect to the Tomcat default homepage at port 8080.

There are no errors in any of the logs so there is no reason for it not to connect.

Any ideas will be appreciated ....

Brian.

Edited server.xml only to allow new webapplications to be seen by Tomcat.

We can connect from within the machine using localhost, but not from an external machine. The firewall is allowing HTTP access so I can't figure it.

Not sure about IPTables. Will have a look at that now ...

Thanks for your help ...
