To turn off the internal/default wifi adapter

How do we turn off i.e. deactivate internal/default wifi adapter card to save power, as the external one (Usb wifi adapter) has been set to do in place ?

Just remove the card, or the loaded driver software, then it won't get used.

If the card is not activated and in use then the power draw is so low as to be insignificant. I would not bother.
