Thunderbird 0.8 Deleting My Email????


I have Thunderbird 0.8 and a verizon.net address. I configured thunderbird for the account but the thing is I get my mail and then like I wanna pull an email up from a few days ago its gone any ideas?

also see Tools > Account Settings > Server Settings > Leave messages on server
