Task bar unclickable, but otherwise works. Cinnamon 2.2.16, Debian 8.1

I'm using Debian 8.1 with Cinnamon 2.2.16. Otherwise everything works fine, but I cannot click on the task bar at the bottom, nor on anything else on it.

Pressing the super key opens the menu/launcher on the bottom left, which I can then use normally. If, however, I try to open the menu by clicking it or hovering over it, nothing happens. The task bar also shows all active programs and functions otherwise normally, besides the unclickability issue, i.e., it shows the active programs, but I can't click them – I have to use alt+tab instead. The clock in the task bar likewise remains functional.

I'm not quite sure what broke it, as it was functional a day earlier. I did mess around in the terminal, but I can't remember exactly what could have caused it.

I'm wondering if restarting the task bar could fix it, but I don't know how to do it. Restarting the computer does not work.

I'll include system info as well, if someone finds it useful:

Operating system: debian 8.1. " (i686)
Cinnamon Version: 2.2.16
Linux Kernel: 3.16.0-4-686-pae
Processor: Intel Pentium D CPU 3.00GHz x 2
Memory: 2.0 GiB
Hard Drive: 75.8 GB (though this is only sda, on which I have the OS and the like. I have also an near empty hard drive, and a few external hard drives that are currently not connected to the computer)
Graphics Card: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RV670 [Radeon HD 3870] (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
