.tar.gz.tar file

I recently downloaded a file mysql_server-4.0 that has an odd extension and does not seem to work.

Here's the name of the bugger:

mysql-standard-4.0.20-pc-linux-i686.tar.gz.tar

I am sure you all can see the problem.
I have tried renaming the file, gunzip tar -zxvf
every thing that I can think of but each operation ends in errors.

Just curious, after the holiday I will have my disc back so not that much worry eh.

Try running 'file mysql-standard-4.0.20-pc-linux-i686.tar.gz.tar' to find out what it is.

Just rename it to mysql-standard-4.0.20-pc-linux-i686.tar.gz as the final .tar is added by the server you've dowloaded the file
