Suse compiling???

Hi peeps, i downloaded suse personal off their website, installed it and everything went great UNTIL i tried to install a driver for my modem. I downloaded the driver unziped it and it says type in:

make clean
make
make install

but when i type in make install it says something like the following:

Bash: Make: Command not found

can anyone help please? Is it because its the personal version and may have no compiling software, If so can someone tell me a way round it?

Thanks in advance

A few things I can think of off of the top of my head:

Make sure you are root. I am forever forgetting to su and get the same message.

Try to slocate 'make' and see if it exists on the drive.

Install the package mikshaw suggested

Make sure you spell make completely in lowercase.
(In UNIX and Linux, case usually matters.)

The fix is simple...

The personal edition does not include gcc. So you have to download and install the compiler to be able to compile stuff.
