Question SuSE 9.0 Gamma Correction?

Greetings.

I recently renovated a Windows box into a SuSE 9.0 Linux install, and things are working good, with the exception of one thing.

It has a Hauppauge WinTV PCI card in it. This is not the problem.

I am using the default KWinTV software to watch the TV. This is part of the problem*.

The image is annoyingly dark and I need to adjust the gamma correction, and I don't know where or how to do that. If any of you lovely penguin-lovers out there can help me out, I'd really appreciate it.

* I tried upgrading to kdetv, but that resulted in the complete destruction of my ability to use the TV capture card; unless you count seeing a dark grey screen with horrible static audio as using the card. Thank goodness for drive imaging.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I Don't know if this will work, but look into xgamma. I think you go something like this (off the top of my head though):

Code:
xgamma -gamma 1.5
That would be one and a half times as bright. Just type the command at the terminal when X is running.

Hope that helps.
