I've been playing around with Linux for a while, but SUSE 10.1 is actually the first distro ever that I got installed without any glitch. Anything else would always fail somewhere during the installation. So congrats to the SUSE people.
Having established my newbie status, here's my problem. I ran the Online Update through YAST and it updated whatever was selected by default -- I presume these were all recommended updates. Everything seemed to go smooth, but obviously something did go wrong, because now whenever I start "Install Software", "Update Software", or "Remove Software" the initial window opens up and then closes, and then re-opens, and then closes, ad infinitum.
No clue at this point how to undo the updates or bypass the problem, what to speak of solve it. It would be great if anyone can help me out here. Needless to say that any suggestions involving a re-install of sorts that bypasses the GUI software handling would have to be accompanied by step-by-step instructions.
Many thanks in advance.
