suggestion for app to back up a folder

hey there,
i would like to back up my home folder every so often.
but i got a lot 'o stuff in there.

is there an app that i could run from a command line and schedule thru cron that would copy only what has been modified to the backup folder?

i have looked at a couple of things at freshmeat, but wanted some user opinions

thanks

"Tar" comes with every Linux distro and is an old and well established archiving system. It stands for "tape archive" and can back up to wherever you want it to.

Run "man tar" (minus the quotes) to read up on it and it's uses.
