Stop X from starting automatically

Hello,

I'm running Mepis 2004 at the moment on an old 887MHz Pentium 3 and i need to save resources for the mail/web server i'm running.

I want to turn off any services i dont need and stop X and KDE from loading by default on boot.

Where can i do this?

Thanks

Dafat

Hello dafatdude...
Hope I'm not all wrong on it, but i had exactly the opposite problem::start x automaticly.so, here's how you do not to start x : you go to the config file etc/inittab and change the default runlevel from 5 to 3...it should work the next time u reboot.plz tell me if it works, it would be my first help in this forum .
