Steaming audio over internet live

My mates operate a band and they want to broadcast some stuff live over the internet. Is there any free good linux software we could use. They basically want to stream audio live and be able to access it via webpage

Hi,

Take a look at shoutcast server, it's a very small program and doesn't need a particularly powerful machine to run on.

It's also pretty good at streaming over low bandwidth lines, although you're inevitably going to run into problems there. It does work though.

We've also tried it out at work, worked a treat, but then we do have a 100Mb connection to the internet.

Cheers,

Steve
