Question status of wine is...??


I have been searching forever (it seems). Does anyone know if they have fixed the glibc problem yet? I need to install Lotus Notes something fierce....

Yeah I've been searching as well and in an irc channel called #wine they said it has not been "officially" released yet but there are places you can get it. Where I do not know.

wapcaplet-wine has not released a version that works with glibc2.3

Red Hat 9 shipped with 2.3 and until the glitch is fixed, wine is broken..:-(

The main site at http://www.winehq.org has some good info, but they dont seem to be addressing it, unless I missed something on their site...

Wine has been around for a long time and there has never been an official release. Everytime they make progress, M$ comes out with something new and they have to reverse engineer everything again.

They're trying to hit a moving target that really, really, doesn't want to get hit.

Has anyone heard anything about wine lately? Their site still has very little useful info..

For Lotus Notes, try Crossover Office - the site has a 30 day trial download and Lotus is supported. Obviously, if you want to have it indefinitely, you'll need to buy it....
