Starting spf-milter: spf-milter: Milter for 'spf-milter' not found in /etc/mail/sendm

Hi ,
Anyone has implemented sendmail-milter-spf successfully?

I was following Hirantha Wijayawardena's article on spf-milter setup with sendmail: http://mail.lug.lk/lurker/message/20....html#articles

It is simple but unfortunately i couldn't do it successfully.

I did exactly the same, lining in the line:

define(`confMILTER_MACROS_HELO', confMILTER_MACROS_HELO`,
{verify}')dnl INPUT_MAIL_FILTER (`spf-milter', `S=local:/var/spf-
milter/spf-milter.sock, F=T, T=C:4m;S:4m;R:8m;E:16m')dnl

in sendmail.mc

then
rebuild sendmail.cf: m4 /etc/mail/sendmail.mc > /etc/mail/sendmailcf

then the problem comes when i need to restart spf-milter

# service spf-milter start
Starting spf-milter: spf-milter: Milter for 'spf-milter' not found in /etc/mail/sendmail.cf!
[FAILED]

Apparently its probably couldnt find a configuration for spf-milter in sendmail.cf, but i have inserted the above lines into sendmail.mc and rebuild into sendmail.cf.

I am blur, where was wrong, hope someone else have done a successful configuration on this spf, the online resource is quite limited.

Hi,

Problem solved.
Instead of editing sendmail.mc then rebuild, i directly edited sendmail.cf by adding this line under

MAIL FILTER DEFINITIONS

Xspf-milter, S=local:/var/run/spf-milter/spf-milter.sock, F=T, T=C:4m;R:8m;E:16m

Now, spf-milter can start, sendmail also can start.
Will monitor its effectiveness, hopefully it is helping to reduce spoof mails.
