Angry Squid running but doesn't seem to cach pages

I have installed squid on fedora core 1. I can access the web using the proxy but when I go back to the same page it simply reloads from the web not from the proxy. I have left the config file basically as it came, I simply setup the sccess for computers on my network. How do I read the logs to try and deciper this problem???or is there something else I have to do?
