spamassassin error: Oct 29 11:17:14 scalix1 spamd[11619]: config: cannot write to //.

Dear friends,

I have the following error with my spamassassin working with postfix.
The error is in /var/log/maillog:

Oct 29 11:17:14 scalix1 spamd[11619]: config: cannot write to //.spamassassin/user_prefs: No such file or directory
Oct 29 11:17:14 scalix1 spamd[11619]: spamd: failed to create readable default_prefs: //.spamassassin/user_prefs
Oct 29 11:17:14 scalix1 spamd[11619]: spamd: processing message <4725536B.6040602@shinyang.com.my> for nobody:99
Oct 29 11:17:14 scalix1 spamd[11619]: auto-whitelist: open of auto-whitelist file failed: locker: safe_lock: cannot create tmp lockfile /.spamassassin/auto-whitelist.lock.scalix1.shinyang.com.my.11619 for /.spamassassin/auto-whitelist.lock: No such file or directory
Oct 29 11:17:14 scalix1 spamd[11619]: spamd: clean message (1.5/5.0) for nobody:99 in 0.1 seconds, 895 bytes.

I googled through, got a lot of people finding this error but there is not clear solution on the problem. Is it something to do with the owner ?
Thanks

Regards
Y

It looks as though you're running a global spamassassin setup as the user nobody (which has no home directory). I haven't set it up that way before.

On my system, sendmail hands local mail to procmail and spamassassin is called from each ~/.procmailrc so that doesn't occur. Can you set yours up on a per-user rather than system-wide basis, or is that not practical?
