Spamassasin, sendmail procmail fetchmail ???
Hi!
I have installed sendmail as my own mailserver, which works fine for all my "mydomain.com" mail and I use fetchmail to get my mail from my ISP, to get my "me@myISP.com" mail...
This works fine.. Only lately, the spam is really starting to annoy me, so I googled around and found spamassasin.
This is where i got lost...
I downloaded spamassasin, and built it and installed it.
I edited my sendmail.mc according to the howto from spamassasin, and m4'd it to create my sendmail.cf
I created the spamassasin/local.cf
so far so good... (i guess)
Now, spamassasin uses procmail? At least thats what I found in it. So, I created a procmailrc with the s-a rules in it. all started, i can see spamd running, and it seems to work.. However, it doesn;t seem to work on the mail i retrieve with fetchmail...
So to make a short story long...
How does this all come together? I mean, i want to understand the complete process better, so i can understand whats happening, (and in case of err where to start looking....)
Thanks for any explanation on this guys!!! I Appreciate it already!
