Source-code error in Tripwire when building

I am running Slackware 10.0 on kernel 2.6.10 and I downloaded Tripwire 2.3.1-2, source.

I have troubled with this for a while now and currenty it can build but when I run install.sh (copied to the main dir of the package) I get to entering some passphrases and then I get errors just after one of them:

Code:
----------------------------------------------
Customizing default policy file...

----------------------------------------------
Creating signed policy file...
Software interrupt forced exit: Segmentation Fault
Error: signing of policy file failed.
How do I overcome this problem?

You might try running strace on the process, to see what's causing the problem.

Personally, I've found tripwire to be such a pain to deal with, that it's of questionable worth. Add to this the fact that not much effort is going on in maintaining the free version, that it's best to start considering some of the free alternatives out there.

You are so right! After a while I stopped trying and used Aide instead, a good alternative to tripwire. And now I can't believe why tripwire seems to be so commonly used, according to my experience with it, it's not good enough.
