Solved - could not connect to Skype

I had installed version 2.0 of Skype, but there was no way that I could connect.

It turned out that I had Skype installed before, and now installed the new version.

The solution is to close Skype, delete the .Skype folder from your home directory and restart Skype.

You'll loose all your settings, but not your contacts as they are maintained on the Skype server.
