snd_mixer_attach: Permission Denied

I installed alsa 0.94 on my RH 9.0 distribution. Now I'm getting the Alsa Error.
'snd_mixer_attach: Permission Denied'.

Any ideas?

Do I have to do a chmod on all the alsa files?

This never happend with 0.93...

I got the files from here..

I'm getting the same issues with that too, works as root.
Can't figure, permissions on /dev/mixer are all OK too.
Must be missing something here...?

Check permissions!
I rebooted and it now all seems fine....
set /dev/mixer and others to root.audio and add the audio group
to your user and you should be OK.
