!smtp and pop address for hotmail?

I 'd like to send/receive my e-mails via ximian. i have red hat 8.0.
But I haven't found any host addresses...
Is it true that only outlook can establish such connection?
Can't we do anything..? thanks

Hotmail uses http mail rather than pop/smtp - you may want to look and see if there's an 'Outlook type' mail program that will allow you to get hotmail

well an "outlook type" program will presumably only include Outlook here. Hotmail is owned by microsoft and so are naturally only inclined to let it's own products interact with it, in the most closed and secretive way possible

too true - would Outlook or Express (if that's your poison) work with Crossover Office or Wine? That may be the only solution for now.....
