Angry Slow connection to linux from Exceed.

I recently installed SuSE Linux version 7.2 on a Dell PowerEdge 2300 (350mhz, 512mb RAM). Linux seems to perform well on the server. When I try to connect to it from Exceed and bring up KDE, it take about 5 minutes to get logged in. Once I am logged in, it takes several minutes to bring my apps up. It takes 2 minutes for a terminal window to come up. DNS seems to be working fine. I can ping my PC and nslookup works fine. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can improve the speed of my xserver connections. Exceed works fine when I connect to our Sun boxes and bring up CDE. I have tried connecting to the Linux box from 3 different pc's and get the same results on all of them. Thanks for the help.
